I read this great quote over on 43 Folders about Junk:
Our is a culture based on the idea that whenever you run out of space, you should just pull up stakes and move five miles west. Then you can be happy.
I guess that may be true for a lot of people. But, if that’s the case, I think I’m going to need a basement larger than what they have 5 miles west of here.
Besides, the mere act of moving would eliminate most of my junk, and then I wouldn’t need the new space. The act of moving makes me face my junk and remove what I don’t need.
My office is finally clean, with the exception of one box behind my file cabinet that holds historical records. It should be a simple matter to clean that out. It now looks as good as if I had made the move 5 miles west.
