So, I started using Facebook and Twitter recently.  Actually, I’ve been on Facebook for a while and just recently joined Twitter.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that part of the reason I’m on these social networks is for “business purposes.”  But, I am NOT on these networks in order to SELL anything.  At least, not the way that you are probably thinking.  If you see I have a product or service you might like, that’s cool.  I’m happy to have you.  If you want to be my “friend” and never buy a stinkin’ thing from me.  That’s cool too.

You see, while I started doing this more or less for business reasons, I’ve found another reason.

Why bother having a resume?  via Sorry, folks, you still need a resume

If you’re really good, you don’t need a resume.  The only reason I have one is because occasionally someone ASK me for one specifically.  Gotta have something to hand them.  But, I can honestly say I have not used a resume to get a contract in at least 5 years and probably only handed one out 3 times in the last 10 years.

Great video over a 43 Folders that discusses processing email.  The whole video is great, but the line I liked the most went something like, “How does your email, rss feeds, etc. map to what you SAY is important.”
